There is some exciting news to share this winter. Beginning March 1st, the Collaborative will welcome Donna Rich, LICSW, Ph.D. Donna is a lovely and talented therapist who specializes in bereavement counseling. Client populations include adolescent through adult, individual and couples' work. Please look for more information about Donna's practice, Safe to Heal, in the upcoming weeks.

Also, I will be offering a one hour Introduction to Meditation and QiGong on February 28, 2012 at the Ames Free Library in North Easton, MA. The class will run from 6:30-7:30 and is FREE. Participants must sign up through the library. Please see the flyer under upcoming classes for more info.

I am delighted to begin working alongside Donna in our beautiful space at the former North Easton Grammar School.

This corner is dedicated to our cherished friend and co-worker, Barbara L. Ganzer, LICSW, one of three founders in June 2003, and the cornerstone, of Collaborative Therapies.

Barbara received her Masters in Social Work in 1982 from Boston University.  Throughout her career, she worked effectively and compassionately with clients, integrating her traditional training with complementary methods and modalities.  She was also a respected mentor and consultant to students and colleagues in the mental health field and a range of other disciplines.  Barbara was an avid teacher in several areas, especially Pan Gu Qigong, a gentle meditative exercise, which she practiced regularly herself.

On January 30, 2010, Barbara passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family and friends. This Collaborative was built on the foundation of Barbara’s understanding and experience as a private practitioner, as well as her special gift for establishing steadfast connections with people. We miss her more than words can say, in our work and in our lives.  Going forward, we remember Barbara’s example of strength, empathy, humor and positive determination on the journey, and we are encouraged and thankful that she traveled with us for a time.
