Linda McGettigan
Educational and Personal
Linda McGettigan earned a dual Masters degree in Japanese Acupuncture and Chinese Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture in 2006. She began her career helping others find greater health and well being as an Occupational Therapist, graduating from Tufts University in 1988. While seeking new and effective methods to help people recover from illness or injury as an Occupational Therapist, she was introduced to Zero Balancing. Through the process of learning Zero Balancing, Linda saw the gentle, yet profound, results that energy work could provide. She became a certified Zero Balancing practitioner in 2004.
Modalities and Populations
With the foundation of her medical background combined with her training in Eastern medicine, Linda treats both acute problems (such as back pain, tendonitis, sinusitis, and whiplash) and chronic problems (such as Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, and Colitis). She may combine acupuncture with one or more complementary treatments. These include Moxibustion and Tui Na. Moxibustion is commonly used in Chinese medicine, (using moxa, known as mugwort in this country) to safely burn on or near the skin. The moxa gently provides moving and nourishing energy to appropriate areas. Tui Na i s a type of Chinese massage designed to clear the meridians to ease pain and illness. Additionally, Linda uses Zero Balancing in numerous ways; to help ease chronic pain, to assist people in making life transitions, and to help people reconnect with their inherent health.
Quotes From Linda
“All the methods I currently use to help people regain their well being are grounded in the intelligence and harmony of the natural world. When people once again experience the rhythm of their own health, enhanced by the wisdom of nature, they appreciate themselves and the world in a new and deeper way than ever before.”
