Molly Notkin
Educational and Personal
Molly received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University in 1978. Utilizing a blend of physical and psychosocial interventions, OTs focus on assisting each person’s efforts toward the highest possible level of independence, health and well-being, through a balanced lifestyle incorporating ample self care, work, rest, play and positive relationships. Throughout her career, Molly has valued the application of Eastern and holistic health care methods in successfully supporting those same efforts. To incorporate such methods into her profession, she returned to school at DoveStar School of Holistic Technology in 2000 for training as a holistic practitioner, graduating in 2002.
Modalities and Populations
Merging her traditional medical skills with distinctive complimentary techniques, Molly uses a holistic approach in her private practice, Resting Tree Massage, drawing on whichever treatments best address each individual’s needs. Her credentials include training in integrative massage, reiki, reflexology, acupressure, breath work, guided imagery, stress management, energy medicine and other mind-body techniques. She is also certified in maternity massage (prenatal & perinatal), as well as advanced oncology massage for people in treatment for cancer, in recovery, or at the end of life.
Molly works with clients at all ages and stages of living, addressing an assortment of wellness goals in addition to acute and chronic issues. She has particular experience with expectant mothers, infants, well and fragile older adults, and people with ongoing physical, cognitive or emotional challenges and/or life-threatening conditions.
In addition to therapeutic bodywork sessions, she is available for educational seminars and stress management consultations in individual, group or organizational settings, as well as private training sessions for family or friends to learn to give each other a safe and soothing massage. She also teaches reiki to become practitioners at all three levels.
